Justin E. Onyekonwu
Managing Director
Justin Onyekonwu is a seasoned Oil & Gas professional with a sound knowledge of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC). He leads Escon Oilfields Limited drive towards the attainment of a sustainably successful integrated oil and gas business in Nigeria and delivering on its corporate strategy.
He holds a B.Eng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Expert in Oil Rig operations and senior development Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the EPC related operations.
Prior to embarking on the entrepreneurial journey, he started his career with Microspedia, an ICT firm in May 2002 – Aug 2006 as Managing Director.
The company renders ICT services to the general public, government and the private sector of the Nigerian economy etc.
Thereafter he joined Chinenye Group as the Managing Director overseeing the activities of Kilishi Emporia Limited and holds 40% share allotment and due to his outstanding performance, he was appointed to Head the Group by the governing board, appointed as the Group Managing Director (GMD) based on his wealth of industry experience and exposure. Chinenye Group housed about six (6) subsidiaries namely: (Kilishi Emporia Limited, Horizine Technical Services Limited, Horizine Technical Services Ghana Limited-Accra, Ghana, Horizine Technical Services International Limited-London, UK., Salem Fountain Limited, Markmarine Construction Services Limited. As GMD, He managed and oversaw the Group’s six (6) subsidiaries’ growth, survival and established policies that effectively enhanced the group’s productions and general operations between Feb 2006 – Dec 2011.
The group was into diverse line of businesses which cut across, Engineering, Construction, Marine, Offshore Catering, Dredging, Road Construction, Water and Juice Production, Building Erection etc.
When he left Chinenye Group, he got an offer to revamp and resuscitate an oil servicing firm from where he managed the company, Baaskin Dynamic Link Limited from April 2012 on the capacity of the General Manager and oversees the work functions of the various managers and drive the company to yield optimally, reporting to Managing Director.
However, while on this appointment, he incorporated Escon Technical Services Limited alongside with some stakeholders and managed this firm on the capacity of Managing Director. Moreso, as the business expands with more interests, there was need to expand their scope of services further and this led to the incorporation of Escon Group which houses namely; Baaskin Dynamic Links Limited, Escon Technical Services Limited and Escon Oilfields Limited which renders independent services to the oil and gas sector of the Nigerian economy.
In these management and executive roles, Justin provided leadership over diverse technical and commercial teams, focused on value creation and supporting business governance objectives of the respective companies.
